Community Bank Narrandera & District will continue to be the major sponsor of the Narrandera Race Club for at least the next three years.

Community Bank’s branding has become synonymous with the Narrandera Cup race day, scheduled for Sunday, July 11, 2027, and the Community Bank Narrandera Cup has quickly become one of the most sought-after pieces of racing silverware in the Riverina.

The Community Bank Narrandera Cup allows the winner and runner-up to progress to the $3 million Big Dance and $750,000 Little Dance at Royal Randwick on the first Tuesday in November, and the meeting continues to grow in stature.

Community Bank Narrandera & District Chairman Jack Langley was excited to continue a winning relationship with the Narrandera Race Club.

“Community Bank Narrandera & District are proud to be entering into a further three years of sponsorship with the Narrandera Race Club,” said Mr Langley.

"As we look back on our previous three years, we feel grateful to be able to support the Club in its progression and success, and aid in supporting community participation in one of Narrandera’s most significant yearly events.

“We look forward to the next three years of sponsorship to the Club and witnessing first-hand the benefits that Country racing brings to our town and the district.”

Narrandera Race Club President Mark Tait, who is preparing to lead the club into his second full season in the top job, was thrilled to have Community Bank’s support locked in for the foreseeable future.

“The ongoing sponsorship for the next three years by Community Bank is extremely important in allowing NRC to maintain continual improvement to the standard of racing, our track quality and members’ and guests’ facilities,” said Mr Tait.

Narrandera Race Club Racing Manager Michael Bailey, who is eager to see the Community Bank Narrandera Cup meeting and weekend grow into one of the Riverina’s premier events, is already planning ways to build on last year’s success.

“The early confirmation of Community Bank's continued involvement means we can make the Narrandera Cup weekend even bigger and better than last year,” said Mr Bailey.

"Mal ‘Miracle’ Johnson’s involvement in last year’s festivities was a tremendous success, from his appearance at the Narrandera Cup Calcutta at the Narrandera Ex-Servicemen’s Club to the golf day, Saturday night entertainment and the races.

"We’re hoping to attract another high-profile guest, or perhaps several, in 2027, while also exploring the possibility of hosting a bowls tournament on the Saturday. It’s all about adding to the weekend’s appeal and giving visitors even more reasons to come to Narrandera for our biggest weekend of racing.

"We’re extremely grateful for the ongoing support of Community Bank Narrandera & District, whose sponsorship plays an important role in making the weekend possible.

“We also encourage other organisations to get involved by hosting complementary events and taking advantage of the weekend’s social and media exposure. Ultimately, we want to build on the success of the Narrandera Cup weekend while showcasing Narrandera as an attractive destination for visitors.”
